American Idol Results Shocker – Antonella Barba Out, Sanjaya Malakar In

Just when it starts to look like American Idol is becoming predictable, there always seem to be a surprising and shocking results show.  The top twelve finalists results show is being met with both applause and outrage on American Idol message boards.

Antonella Barba became the most searched for Idol because of some revealing photos of her posted around the Internet.  Despite receiving negative feedback from the judges, she survived week after week.  However, after what was actually perhaps her best performance in the competition, she was eliminated just short of reaching the top twelve.

While many fans are applauding Antonella’s elimination as America finally voting based on talent, other outcomes on the same results show are being met with protests.  While many expected Jared Cotter to be eliminated based on the little screen time he had received, Sabrina Sloan and Sundance Head’s eliminations came as a shock to many.

In regards to talent, many put Sabrina Sloan in the top six girls, including American Idol judge Randy Jackson.  After Sabrina Sloan’s elimination, Randy Jackson said “Sabrina should be in that top twelve, dog.  She definitely put it down.  America got that one wrong I think.”

While Sundance Head has had his up and downs, Sanjaya Malakar has taken the biggest criticism from the judges. After Sundance Head’s elimination and Sanjaya Malakar’s progression to the top twelve, Paula Abdul said “I’m speechless.  I am.  This is a singing competition, and Sundance you’ve been one of our finest.”  When Ryan Seacrest asked Simon Cowell what happened, Cowell replied “The volume was turned down” and shrugged his shoulders in disbelief.
