American Idol Results - Lakisha Jones Eliminated

In a break from American Idol tradition, Simon Cowell and Paula Abdul switched seats for the American Idol top four results show. Simon clapped like a seal to make fun of Paula, and Paula rubbed her chest to poke fun back at Simon. Ryan Seacrest quipped "Oddly enough, he has much more to work with than you do there, and I mean that nicely, as a compliment."

Pink made a special guest appearance to sing "Who Knew." For the Ford music video, the remaining four American Idol finalists performed "You Really Got Me." After the video, the final four sang a tribute to Barry Gibb. The American Idol final four also received a sneak peak at the movie, Fantastic Four Rise of the Silver Surfer.

After a commercial break, Ryan Seacrest tried to get the four finalists to line up for the results, but instead they stood in the middle of the stage and hugged. Seacrest told Jordin Sparks that she was safe. Barry Gibb made a special guest appearance to sing "To Love Somebody."

After another commercial break, Seacrest told Melinda Doolittle that she was also safe. The final two up for elimination came down to Lakisha Jones and Blake Lewis. While Randy Jackson and Paula Abdul avoided making a prediction, Simon Cowell predicted that Lakisha was going home. Seacrest revealed that after 45 million votes, Blake Lewis was safe and Lakisha Jones was going home.
